Blessed with fabulous weather, 27 anglers and I left from Fisherman’s Landing aboard the Searcher for a 1.5 day fishing trip. After steaming south all night Sunday we reached our fishing grounds Monday at first light. Captain Art makes sure you get a full day of fishing, 14 plus hours!
It didn’t take long for “Eagle Eyes” Ryan to spot the kelp patties that held Yellow Tail and Dorados. The boat managed to limit on Yellow Tail and we had another 8 to 10 Dorados. We even had a marlin take a swipe at a sardine.
Dan and Charlie in the galley made sure everyone was well nourished throughout the day as the fishing continued. We ran across a very large and scattered school of dolphin. Swimming with them was four yellow fin tuna (25 lbs) which the Houston party managed to land – they all got bit at once! That was a show in itself.
Many thanks to Captain Art (32 year owner/operator) and to his active crew – Kenny, Aaron and Ryan #2 who made sure all had a safe, fun fishing adventure. If you have just a few days you really want to look at this trip.
